This is the car that won the 1989 Hopra Nats Restricted Open class.  Not very pretty, but fast, it was first built in 1984 and received a new armature in '89,  along with other modifications like the heat sink screws and copper tape, trick self-centering guide pin, and the first silicone-coated sponge tires ever!

Yes, it also featured TWO Tyco X-2 front bulkheads, which moved the pinion closer to the crown gear, as well as providing better motor cooling.

As you can see, things have changed.
